The list below is where you can see the scheduled PPLAC activities for 2025. We are always adding them so stay tuned because we will be filling this page up!
General Meetings and DPC's (Digital Photographic Competitions)
January 23 - Open House, Theme: Chinese New Year! Raffles! Awards! New PPLAC Board!
February 27 - DPC #1 (All DPC's are Zoom meetings)
March 27 - General Meeting featuring Royce Bair on Nightscape Photography (Note! This is a Zoom Meeting and NOT in-person! The link will be HERE by the 27th.)
April 24 - General Meeting featuring Mel Carll on "Getting Out of a Photography Rut"
May 22 - DPC #2 (All DPC's are Zoom meetings)

PPLAC Special Events
May 10 - Santa Anita Morning Exercises and LA Arboretum, Arcadia, CA (This is a combined event with Professional Photographers of California.) Click HERE for more information. (Zoom image review on 5/28 at 7:00pm. The Zoom link will be HERE and on the Calendar by that evening)
December 3 - A special Zoom presentation by renowned photographer, David Coleman, who will be discussing the impact of AI on modern photography. The Zoom link will be HERE and on the Calendar by that evening
PPLAC Workshops
June 17 - The PPLAC Outing to the Getty Center Dept of Photographs (Listed under Outings above) is also a Workshop. PPA members will receive a merit.
July 21-22 and 22-23 - A PPLAC Adventure/Workshop (Also listed under Adventures below) on NightScape Photography in Joshua Tree National Park. PPA members will receive a merit.
PPLAC Adventures
May 13-16 - Northern California Waterfall Adventure! (Zoom image review on 6/18 at 7:00pm. The Zoom link will be HERE and on the Calendar by that evening)
July 21-22 & 22-23 - Joshua Tree Nightscape Adventure/Workshop! We have added a second night for a second group! (Zoom image review for both nights on 8/4 at 6:45pm. The Zoom link will be HERE and on the Calendar by that evening)
October 6-9 - Eastern Sierra and Fall Color Adventure! (Zoom image review on 10/29 at 7:00pm. The Zoom link will be HERE and on the Calendar by that evening)
Notes on the Above:
The General Meetings and DPC's are set. The details will be published about a month ahead.
The PPLAC Outings will also publish final details about a month ahead. Part of every PPLAC Outing is a low-key and fun Zoom meeting review of the attendee's images held a couple of weeks after the events.
For Special Events like one day PPLAC Workshops, we will publish the information well ahead of the event.
Because the logistics involved with multi day PPLAC Adventures where travel planning is part of the event, the details will also be made available well in advance. These events will also include a pre-trip orientation Zoom meeting and a post-trip review of images taken on the Adventure. There also could be a workshop component included in the itinerary.
Note that for PPLAC Workshops and PPLAC Adventures, advanced information will be announced on our "Events to Plan For!" page under the calendar tab above.
All announcements will appear on this website, in PPLAC email Blasts, the monthly PPLAC Newsletter and on PPLAC Social Media (Facebook and Meetup).
